Who we are and what this covers

Sparge Tech, LLC (“Sparge,” “we,” “us”) makes Sparge, web software that breweries use to run sales, delivery and inventory. We are a Texas limited liability company at 9043 Woodhurst Dr., Dallas, TX 75243.

This policy covers the Sparge website, the Sparge app, and any Sparge phone apps. It applies to visitors to our site, the people who sign up or sign in (brewery owners, managers, sales reps, brewers and drivers), and the brewery customers whose details our breweries keep in Sparge.

It does not cover the separate services you connect to Sparge, such as QuickBooks or Square. Their own privacy policies apply to them.

How we use information

We use information to provide Sparge and keep it working:

  • Sign you in and show you only your brewery’s data, with the access your role allows
  • Plan sales days and delivery routes, including drive times and maps
  • Sync invoices, customers and payments with the accounting or payment service your brewery connects
  • Send account emails, such as invitations and password resets
  • Answer support requests
  • Find and fix bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure
  • Meet legal obligations

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not use your brewery’s records to train AI models.

Breweries control their own data

Each brewery owns the business records it puts into Sparge, including details about its own customers. We hold and process those records on the brewery’s behalf and follow its instructions. We do not use them for any other purpose.

If you are a brewery’s customer, or a staff member of one, and want to see, correct or delete your information, contact that brewery first. We will help the brewery respond.

Each brewery’s data is kept separate from every other brewery’s. One brewery cannot see another’s records.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run Sparge, and only what each one needs.

Supabase

Database, sign-in and account emails

Netlify

Hosts the website and app

Receives: Requests to the site, including IP addresses

Google

Intuit (QuickBooks)

Accounting sync, when a brewery connects it

Receives: Invoices, customers and payments

Square

Payment sync, when a brewery connects it

Receives: Orders, customers and payments

If we start billing breweries through a payment processor, we will add it here.

When you open a stop in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze, that app receives the address and follows its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business. If Sparge changes hands, this policy keeps applying to the data collected under it.

How long we keep it

We keep a brewery’s records while its Sparge account is open. After a brewery cancels, we delete or return its records within 90 days, unless the brewery asks us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to keep them longer.

When someone is removed from a brewery, they lose access right away. The orders, visits and notes they entered stay with the brewery, because they are the brewery’s business records.

Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Backups roll off on our providers’ schedules.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored encrypted by our database provider. Database rules limit every request to the brewery and role of the person signed in. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and connections to QuickBooks and Square use tokens that the brewery can revoke at any time.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell the affected breweries and people as the law requires.

Your rights and choices

  • Location: Sparge asks for your location only when you tap Start from my location. You can say no, or turn it off in your browser or phone settings, and start from the brewery instead.
  • Connected services: A brewery owner can disconnect QuickBooks or Square at any time.
  • Your account: You can update your name and password in Sparge. To close your account, contact your brewery or us.

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do neither of those last two. To use any of these rights, email jon@spargetech.com. We will confirm who you are before acting and will not treat you differently for asking. An authorized agent may ask for you.

If your information is part of a brewery’s records, we may pass your request to that brewery (see Breweries control their own data).

Children

Sparge is a business tool for breweries and is not meant for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Where data is stored

Sparge is run from the United States, and our providers store data there. If you use Sparge from outside the US, your information is transferred to the US.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. For a significant change, we will tell brewery owners by email or in Sparge before it takes effect.
